Sony Unveils 12–24mm f/2.8 High-End G Master Lens
Sony has announced a new addition to its G Master series of lenses designed for full frame: the 12–24mm f/2.8 GM. The lens is a faster high-end version of the company’s 12–24mm f/4 G, and as such could potentially be an excellent lens for underwater photography—notwithstanding the expense of the dome port you’d need to use.
Weighing in at 1.9lb, the dust and moisture-sealed lens features a nine-blade aperture and 17 elements in 14 groups, including three XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements, two Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and three ED elements to control distortion and chromatic aberration.
