Panasonic Unveils DC-BGH1 Modular Box-Style Camera

Panasonic has announced a new box-style video camera, the Lumix DC-BGH1. Built around a 10.2MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor, the modular camera—measuring 3.66 inches per side and 3.07 inches deep—has neither viewfinder nor screen, but a raft of connectivity and mounting options. Controls include a dial with four-way controller and both dedicated and custom function buttons.

The BGH1 shoots internally up to DCI 4K/60p in 4:2:0 10-bit color and up to DCI 4K/30p in 4:2:2 10-bit with All-I compression, and up to DCD 4K/60p in 4:2:2 10-bit color over HDMI. You can also capture up to 240fps at Full HD resolution with the help of the variable frame rate (VFR) function. Panasonic claim a dynamic range of 13 stops.
