Nikon Announces Second-Generation Z6 II and Z7 II
Nikon has unveiled updates to its Z7 and Z6 full-frame mirrorless cameras, announced just over two years ago. The Z7 II and Z6 II boast performance-boosting Expeed 6 processors and an additional UHS-II SD card slot (to join the existing CFexpress/XQD slot). Each camera can now be powered as well as charged via USB-C. And alongside the cameras, a new MB-N11 vertical battery grip has also been announced.
The extra processing power increases both the continuous shooting speed and the buffer size: The Z7 II can shoots at up to 10fps (up from 9fps) with a threefold increase in buffer capacity; the Z6 II shoots up to 14fps (up from 12fps). Nikon also says that autofocus has been enhanced, with better subject acquisition and tracking, particularly in low light.
