New Years Resolutions, or… – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

New Years Resolutions, or… – Monochromia I’ve never been a person that sets a New Years resolution. If I did I wouldn’t tell anyone. However 2020 has been a special year. Where, to be totally honest I haven’t taken many new pictures. I’ve concentrated more on other hobbies and getting fit after my second heart episode. My new camera, a Z6 is still a newfangled stranger to me. However I’m also lucky enough to own some other really great cameras…

Mountain in the snow – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

Mountain in the snow – Monochromia This is one from August last year. Taken while I was visiting Svalbard. I never have much success with landscapes However, I like how this one looked and have decided to share it with you. It was taken while standing on the tarmac of the airport runway. So real deep thought went into it was just a trail run so to speak.Nikon D800 (How I do miss you a Lot)Nikkor 300mm f/4.0 AF-S PF…

Admin – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

Admin – Monochromia   I don’t know about you, but I often take a picture that I wonder what appealed to me at the time. What caught my eye. I think I’ve seen some sort of shot before and there is this flash of recognition and I try to record the image I have seen in my head. It maybe the lines in the shot the way the windows and the wooden doors contrast with the brickwork. Or maybe it’s a…

The lighthouse at Worlds End – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

The lighthouse at Worlds End – Monochromia This is a heavily visited attactraction in a national park about an hours drive from our house. Although it looks really oldies not that ancient really; it was built with stones from the beach in 1932. I had to do a fair bit of photoshopping to remove the people but the end result looks ok to me. Doing the Twist – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

Doing the Twist – Monochromia The Twist is an art gallery about an hours drive from my home here in Norway. Well, what with all my travel plans for the summer abandoned I had to seek inspiration closer to home. Nikon Z6Nikkor Z 24-70 f/4.0 SPP in PS and Silver Efex ProII. 179 – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

179 – Monochromia   That was his or her number. Each miner took this token with him each shift and returned it after each one . That way they could check if everyone was out of the mine. If you forgot to deliver your token you were made to walk from the mine back to the town and return the next day. Even in winter. The guide told us you only did this once and never forgot it again. Swimming Pool and Pyramiden – Monochromia – Black & White Photography Article

Swimming Pool and Pyramiden – Monochromia Well last time I showed you the inside of the pool. Here’s a shot from the outside. A more desolate spot for a swimming pool you would have to search a long time for. The mountain in the background gives (no surprise here) the name to the township. Pyramiden.
